Finished!

The Ice Cream Cone Cake is finished! It took me a little longer to decorate the bottom tier than I thought it would, but the cone went pretty well and now it is all done! I like the way it turned out! Happy birthday Jonathan!

  2. This turned out great!! Wonderful, colorful design and it sounds tasty! My previous comment asked a bunch of questions about how you made it...before I noticed you had a prior post explaining your design for this : )

  3. Thanks Pati! For the cone, I ended up filling it with chocolate. It has a dowel in in that goes down into the top cake. It seems pretty steady, but I'll probably take it down to drive it over to my friend's house so it doesn't fall. If I had it to do again, I'd probably put the dowel through both cakes to give it more stability. The top is the scraps from the chocolate chip cake mixed with some vanilla buttercream (instead of the ganache like I was going to do). I just spread the buttercream over the top without smoothing it too much to make it look more like real ice cream.
